Meta tags are described as hidden, short, HTML codes used in the web pages. They define the important keywords of the website, the title of the page and they also give its description to the search engines. It is not easy for you to understand their importance and to compose them properly to acquire the finest search engine ranking. They are targeted for the search engines and are invisible to the visitor. Therefore, the webmasters try to violate the white hat techniques and also manipulate this tool through spamming of keywords.

Types of Meta Tags

Mostly Search engines give importance to Meta tags and they consider them to be the determining factor for ranking a website. There are various types of Meta tags and the most important ones are:

Title tags: At the top of a window of a web page and also in the search engine listing result, they are visible. A good and relevant title tag can motivate the viewers to click on the link and go through the website. Therefore, you should construct an attractive title tag that can interests the readers and motivate them to visit your website.

Meta Keywords: They are some special keywords that provide extra information to the crawlers and spiders of a search engine. Relevant keywords find the right people for your site and generate quality traffic to your site.

In last month, Google announced its real-time search capability which is the new salvo in its ongoing feature war with Bing. Search engine of Microsoft already integrates real-time Facebook and Twitter results. Both search engines have now released their initial real-time products and there is too much to like from the two top search brands.

Results of Google’s Real-Time

Twitter is only one part of Google’s push into real-time results as Google includes the new updates directly from news and blogs services also. But, according to my tests, Twitter updates were the bulk of Google’s real-time results. Google’s real-time search results unlike Bing are embedded in our regular search results page instead of a dedicated real-time page.

If you enter famous search terms into Google then your results page will include a “Latest results for” section that features a constantly updating window of real-time results that usually shows up about halfway down the first results page.

How does a user get real-time search results?

Matt Cutts has mentioned in his blog that Google processed billion of documents in one day for their real time search. Google has really improved significantly in speeding up the crawling and indexing process.

Following are the steps to use it:

1) Go to www.google.com
2) Type your query and press “search.”
3) When the results load completely, find “Show options” under the search box. Click it.

So, what you want to say about Google’s real-time search capability and Bing?

The Sandbox is a name of an observation that how the Google ranks web pages in its index.

The Google Sandbox Effect

It is the restriction placed on new websites which is an alleged. As a result of which, a new website does not receive good/higher rankings for its most important keyword phrases and keywords for few months. A new website may still affected adversely by the Sandbox effect even with many inbound links and good content.

For new sites, the Google Sandbox acts as a probation to discourage spam sites from getting banned, rising quickly etc. Therefore, the Google Sandbox is too much similar to a new site being placed on probation whose rank is kept lower than expected, prior to give value for its content and inbound links.

Google reduces the page rank of new domains temporarily and place them into its “sandbox” to counter all the ways that to manipulate Google’s page ranking, search engine optimizers attempt by creating many inbound links to a new site from other web sites that they own

A “reverse sandbox” effect can also exist where new pages with good content but without inbound links are increased in rank temporarily.

How long a site is stays in the Google Sandbox?

From one to six months, stays of website in the Google Sandbox can vary and with three to four months being the average time. In the sandbox, less competitive searches will be given very shorter stay. Then the filter will be decreased gradually over time and will lose its dampening effect (most of it) in about three months. Whereas, the Sandbox filter might remain for six months for the most competitive search keyword phrases.

So, I hope you now understand very well about this Google Sandbox.

Search engine optimization keyword frequency in SEO is the number of times a keyword or phrase appears on a page or in an area on a page. All Search engines place importance in the number of times a keyword is listed on your page. You can say the more a keyword appears on the page, the more relevant it will be to that search.

Keyword search frequency tool may help you to select keywords as well as research keywords for internet marketing. You may able to find out the monthly search frequency of your keyword on WEB. To find all related keywords and search times, deep analyze option can help you.

There are many keyword frequency tools. But the five best tools are:

• SEO Chat’s Keyword Tool
• Ranks.NL’s Keyword Density and Prominence
• KeywordDensity.com
• Aaron Wall’s Keyword Density Tool
• Evrsoft Developers’ SEO Tool

If search engines feel you were excessive then they will penalize you for keyword spamming. So, you should use your keyword in the document in as many times as is recommended for that engine and as many different areas as you can. A standard repetition of each keyword is three to ten times.

Frequency will vary depending on whether you enable partial matching. Frequency counts will vary depending on whether you selected exact matching on the first tab of the Page Critic screen. In extra, if you perform a case-sensitive search by having one or more upper case letters in your keyword, then your frequency count may vary.

So, I hope now you understand about Keyword Frequency.

Keyword proximity refers to the distance in space, as measured in within the phrases and the keywords which include the keywords with contextual relevance and without repetition. Keyword proximity measures the closeness between two or more keywords. The closer the keywords are good.

The keyword density and Keyword proximity within your website can break or make your search engine optimization efforts. The proximity of the keywords or keywords in a phrase in relation to each other and one another for Search Engine Optimization is of great importance and is the basis of using the suitable combination of the words in the headers, page titles, paragraphs and the page content.

By searching in your favorite search engine, you can see the results of keyword proximity. You will find that the difference between your keyword search and the same search using stop words like and, in, we, and your Website address or company name are different, if you target a keyword phrase.

You should ignore ‘stop words’ or ‘filler words’ between the important keywords. The reason is that for non-broken phrases, if you can top the search engine results then also you will be more likely to top a search engine for the broken search phrase. This is far more likely than the opposite. The keyword phrase and the logical search also reversed return much distinct results. So, use of proximity should be wisely.

Keyword proximity considerations should have the keyword phrases or proximity of keyword to other keyword occurrences within the page and the top of the page. As usually, the top of the page tells you what you are there to read about.

This starts with the page title. Then you should consider the following:

• Description tag
• Alternate text
• Heading tags
• Input tags

And the first sentence follows the h1 tag. The above order is not based on the level of importance and is only because this is a common in the HTML code.

So, this is all about Keyword proximity. I hope now you know about it.

Google has announced a new website Translator gadget which is called as new “automatic translation” that enables you to make your site’s content available in 51 languages. Now, if user visits your page and if their language i.e. determined by their browser settings, is different from the language of your page then the gadget will automatically detect a visitor’s preferred language and they will be automatically translate the page into their own language. And if the people’s language is the same as the language of your page then no translation banner will appear.

The automatic translations are display directly on your page after clicking the Translate button. It is easy to install as you just cut and paste a short snippet into your webpage to increase the global reach of your website or blog.

It is necessary to note that Google is not promising perfect translations. If the subject of a site is very highly technical then this translation gadget might not do anyone except the most rabid disciples much good.

It is not easy to imagine a simpler option from the point of view of a user. Google is not making things so hard on sites’ owners. They only require to copy and paste a snippet of code which is about 300 characters in length into your website or blog.

For people, automatic translation is convenient and helps them to get a quick gist of the page. But, for the art of professional translation, it is not a perfect substitute. Today, I would like to celebrate the contributions of translators all over the world. These translators play a significant role in enabling global communication and the need for them is greater with the rapid growth and ease of access to digital content.

I hope that professional translators with translation tools like Google Translator Toolkit as well as this Translate gadget will continue to help make the content of world more accessible to all.

Google puts websites and pages it doesn’t trust, the supplemental index exists there. The regular and continue index includes the search results that you see usually. The supplemental index results will display if there are not much documents to match the query in the main index.

If your pages or website exists in the supplemental index then it means that Google does not trust your website. Following are the different ways to get into the supplemental index:

• Not enough links
• So many low quality links
• So many low quality outbound links
• So many pages for your page rank (low PR, many pages)
• Duplicate content
• Your site is new and has a low link profile. To avoid this problem, get more authoritative links.

You can’t know if your website is in the supplemental index. If your website is new then by default, Google may place you in the supplemental index until your website gains some authority. And Google is not likely to crawl all your URLs, if your site is in the supplemental index. You should not have broken links and 404s.

Many users are still confused that the supplemental index is bad for their site or not. But all expert SEOs call the supplemental index as the sign of death which means in terms of site ranking in Google.

Now! Let’s understand what is Supplemental Result?

Supplemental Result can be defined as a URL residing in Google’s supplemental index and a secondary database include pages of less importance as measured primarily by Google’s Page Rank algorithm.

At the bottom of a search result, Google used to place a “Supplemental Result” label to indicate that it is in the supplemental index but in July 2007 they did now continue the same practice and it is no longer possible to indicate that a result is in the main one or the supplemental index.

So, I hope now you know about the supplemental index.

Google launched Google Sidewiki, a new feature of the Google Browser Toolbar in which you can enter comments about any web page in a collapsing side window and it shows some of the best comments in a sidebar. This feature is integrated with Google Profiles so you can search more information about the author and also you can read other Sidewiki comments.

Comments left by other users can be read by anyone but only those users who are logged into a Google Account can leave comments. If there are comments about the current page, Google can identify you so you have to send your browsing history to use the feature.

What Google Sidewiki do? It also

• It also add helpful information beside any webpage and
• Read insights from other users

How you can install Google Toolbar with Sidewiki in your browser?

• Click on the Sidewiki button on any web page
• Add helpful information about the entire page or any part of the page
• Publish to the browser sidebar for others to read

It is very interesting to see how Sidewiki deals with abuse and spam. If you are going to operate a website, it is a great idea to install Google Toolbar to check what people are commenting for your site, even still if it is only visible to Google Sidewiki users. This toolbar is available for IE and Firefox but not for Safari.

The Google Sidewiki team has released a video that is showcasing the functionality of it.

I hope you would like this idea.
