If you want to know about the terms Clustered Network and Domain Registration, then yes! I can explain them in a simple and an easy way.

Clustered Network:

“Cluster” used in computer networking is refer to a number of different implementations of shared computing resources. It integrates the resources of two or more than two computing devices together for some common purpose.

Clustered network storage systems are actually an evolution of the two-way active-active architectures found with traditional midrange storage systems. This network designs extend the number of intelligent controllers beyond two controllers when they are appearing to the users, applications and system administrators as one logical system. It is necessary to recognize that network clustering involves a long past history of research and development with various offshoots and variations.

Domain Registration

You should seriously consider registering your own domain name if you have your web site. This is a name like “enhanceeducation.com” or “newfashiontrends.com”, which you can use to refer to your website. One important thing is that you do not need to be an organization or company to register a domain name. Any person can do it also.

There are many advantages of having a domain name:

• It gives you credibility if you are a business.
• People can remember the name easily and they can return to your website without having to consult their documents.
• It is very helpful if you want good advertisers (sponsors) for your website

Now, I hope you understand the meaning of such the powerful terms.

The Mobile Web refers to browser-based web services like the WAP, World Wide Web and i-Mode, Japan is using a mobile device like a PDA, cell phone, or other portable gadget to connect to a public network. Such access does not need a desktop computer and not a fixed landline connection. In 2008, the total number of mobile web users grew past the total number of PC based internet users for the first time. Web access from a mobile device is as simple as Web access from a desktop computer.

But today, Mobile Web access suffers from usability and interoperability problems. 50% of this problem is due to the incompatibility of the format of much information available on the Internet with mobile devices and 50% is due to the small size of the screens of mobile devices and other device limitations.

What is Mobile Internet?

The access to the Internet using a mobile wireless modem is called as Mobile Internet either integrated in an independent device like PCMCIA card, USB modem or into a mobile phone.

Currently, USB modems are HSPA (3.5-3.75G) modems. Various users use their mobile telephones as a way of connecting their personal computer to the Internet via GPRS, 3G or CSD.

Many Mobile Web companies like Mobile Web Initiative has a goal to make browsing the Web from mobile devices a reality. They are working so that they can improve Web content production and can improve the access for the greater Web and mobile users.

Now, I hope you understand the meaning of Mobile Web and Mobile Internet.

Category 6 (CAT 6) is the fastest most reliable copper technology available on today’s market, no-risk performance and soaring headroom. This category enhanced cabling products like Patch Panels, Couplers, Cords and Connecting Blocks.

Category 6 is cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other interconnect that is backward compatible with Category 5 cable, Cat-5e and Cat-3. This cabling is specified in the frequency range of at least 1-250 MHz by the category 6 standards as determined by ISO, TIA, CENELEC and others.

Over the past 5 years, the majority of new buildings that call for structured cabling systems install category cat 6 cabling. Its features are more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise.

Cat 6 cable is good for end-users who need backward compatible structured cabling systems that support 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) connections. The cable contains four twisted copper wire pairs, although each twisted pair is made up of slightly larger 23 gauge copper wire.

Use of Cat 6 cable in home installations has various effects. Some of these are:

Due to this cabling, no longer does the installer have sufficient buffer to allow for expedient installation.

When failures occur, this coupled with the need to revisit terminations that has made for tedious and frustrating installations, with lost time and money for all involved. The requirement for more controlled terminations has not existed for Cat 5 or Cat 5e installation standards.

Work practice variation would amount to some degree of variation within the tested result but sufficient headroom ensured adequate buffer for such anomalies.

Now with Category 6 standards, it is paramount that the structured cabling system of any high-speed network must be capable of minimizing or eliminating inconsistent installation methods that cause costly performance variations.

Once you get to the 250 Mhz limit for Cat 6, the wire is acting just like a wave-guide.

Cat 6 indicates that up to 2dB of NEXT can be saved by maintaining the twist up to the point of termination.

Network topology is the arrangement or mapping of the elements like links, nodes, etc. of a network, especially the logical and physical interconnections between nodes. There is one example of a network, a local area network (LAN) is that exhibits both a physical and a logical topologies. Any node in the LAN will have one or more links to one or more other nodes in the network and the mapping of these nodes and links onto a graph results in a geometrical shape that determines the physical topology of the network.

The logical and physical topologies might be identical in any particular network but they also may be distinct.

Any particular network topology is determined only by the graphical mapping of the configuration of logical and/or physical connections between nodes. Therefore, LAN Network Topology is technically a part of graph theory. Distances between nodes, physical interconnections, transmission rates, and/or signal types may differ in two networks.

There are three basic types of topology in networks:

1.) Bus Topology: It is often used when network installation is small, simple or temporary. On a typical bus network the cable is just 1 or more wires with no active electronics to amplify the signal or pass it along from computer to computer.

Advantages

It is easy to handle and implement.

It is best suited for small networks.

Disadvantages

The cable length is limited. This limits the number of stations that can be connected.

This network topology can perform well only for a limited number of nodes.

2.) Mesh Topology: each network node is connected to every other node in the network.

Advantage
The arrangement of the network nodes is such that it is possible to transmit data from one node to many other nodes at the same time.

Disadvantage
The arrangement wherein every network node is connected to every other node of the network, many of the connections serve no major purpose. This leads to the redundancy of many of the network connections.

3.) Ring Topology: each computer is connected to the next computer with the last one connected to the first.

Advantage

The data being transmitted between two nodes passes through all the intermediate nodes.

A central server is not required for the management of this topology.

Disadvantages

The failure of a single node of the network can cause the entire network to fail.

The movement or changes made to network nodes affects the performance of the entire network.

4.) Star Topology: all the cables run from the computers to the central location where they are all connected by a device called hub or switch.

Advantages

Due to its centralized nature, the topology offers simplicity of operation.

It also achieves an isolation of each device in the network.

Disadvantage

The network operation depends on the functioning of the central hub. Hence, the failure of the central hub leads to the failure of the entire network.

So, now we hope you all understand the advantages and disadvantages of all Network Topologies.

Networking is a way to connect to the Internet, game consoles, printers and other computers in small office or your home. It is relationship building among people with similar interests and goals. It involves actively getting to know people and developing an ever-increasing list of connections.

Networking is not a one-time event or a one-sided approach in which you never give anything back. Rather, it’s a key strategy in the career management process.

In information technology, networking is the construction, design, and use of a network, including the physical (hub, cabling, bridge, router switch and so forth),.

It can be easily transfers files, pictures, music and information without using a disk or burning a CD. It also enables you in your home or office to share one broadband Internet connection, one printer, one scanner etc.
Why do you need Network?

Networking is smart, efficient and cost effective.

Types of Network

LAN - Local Area Network

WAN – Wide Area Network

PAN - Personal Area Network

DAN – Desk Area Network

MAN - Metropolitan Area Network

WLAN – Wireless Local Area Network

SAN - Storage Area Network, System Area Network, Server Area Network, or sometimes Small Area Network

CAN - Campus Area Network, Controller Area Network, or sometimes Cluster Area Network

Local Area Network(LAN) – It connects network devices over a relatively short distance. A networked office building, home or school usually contains a single LAN, though sometimes one building will contain a few small LANs (perhaps one per room), and a LAN will span a group of nearby buildings.

Wide Area Network(WAN) – It spans a large physical distance. The Internet is the largest WAN, spanning the Earth.

A network device called a router connects LANs to a WAN. In IP networking, the router maintains both a WAN address a LAN address. Most WANs (like the Internet) are not owned by any one organization or a person but rather exist under collective or distributed ownership and management. It tends to use technology like ATM, Frame Relay and X.25 for connectivity over the longer distances.

While LAN and WAN are by far the most popular network types mentioned:

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN )- a LAN based on WiFi wireless network technology

Campus Area Network (CAN) – a network spanning multiple LANs but smaller than a MAN, such as on a university or local business campus.

Metropolitan Area Network (MAN )- a network spanning a physical area larger than a LAN but smaller than a WAN, such as a city. A MAN is typically owned an operated by a single entity such as a government body or large corporation.

System Area Network – links high-performance computers with high-speed connections in a cluster configuration. Also known as Cluster Area Network.

Storage Area Network - connects servers to data storage devices through a technology like Fibre Channel.

So, in short, a network is convenient and it can save you money.
